<p>Google is prepared to take on the persistent problem of fraud affecting Android users. With Google Play safeguard, the firm has begun offering “enhanced fraud protection,” which claims to safeguard Android users from financial fraud attempts.</p>

<p>In the next weeks, Google will begin rolling out this capability in Singapore in collaboration with the Cyber Security Agency of Singapore (CSA).</p>
<p>When a user tries to install an app from an Internet-sideloading source, the company claims that this enhanced fraud protection will analyze and automatically block the installation of apps that may use sensitive runtime permissions that are frequently abused for financial fraud (web browsers, messaging apps or file managers).</p>
<p>The business said, “This enhancement will specifically look for four runtime permission requests: RECEIVE_SMS, READ_SMS, BIND_Notifications, and Accessibility. It will also inspect the permissions the app declared in real-time.”</p>
<p>Scammers often take advantage of these rights to spy on screen content and intercept one-time passwords via SMS or alerts.</p>
<p>Over 95% of installs of large fraud malware families that take use of these delicate runtime rights originate from Internet-sideloading sources, according to Google’s study of these families.</p>
<p>It is imperative that Google discovers a way to combat the serious threat of financial fraud. Every each day, people in India complain about these frauds, and it is obvious that the corporation has not done enough to stop them.
