Pooja Bhatt on her seven-year sobriety
She captioned a selfie of herself and a few images she shared that showed sunshine outside her house, saying, “When the going gets tough, the tough surrender.” I’ve been clean for seven years now. Thank you, modesty, and grace! For those in need of this reminder, know that you are not alone and that you can succeed if I can.”

Pooja captioned her photo with the following hashtags: “sobriety rocks,” “sober life,” “sober living,” “own your story,” “share your journey,” “end the stigma,” “end the shame,” “recovery is real,” “recovery is beautiful,” and “recovery is the new cool.”

Regarding beating alcoholism: Pooja has spoken openly about her battles with drinking on many occasions. During Bigg Boss OTT 2, Pooja, one of the top 5 competitors, said, “I had a drinking problem, and that’s why I acknowledged my addiction and made the decision to quit.”

Pooja further mentioned how women in society are not as free to discuss addiction as men are. “Society gives men a license so they can speak openly about being addicted and recovering from alcoholism,” she had said on the program. But women don’t drink in public, and they don’t recuperate in public either. Since I used to drink in public, I reasoned that there was no need for me to recover from alcoholism in secret. I used to be called an alcoholic by others, but I later identified myself as a recovered alcoholic.”
