Breaking I'll feel emotional when Sachin Tendulkar breaks his record, says Virat Kohli

Breaking Sachin Tendulkar's record of 49 ODI centuries would, according to the former captain of India, Virat Kohli, be a “emotional moment” for him.

Few believed that anybody would come close to the 'Little Master' when he finished his career with 49 ODI hundreds, including the last one that was also his 100th international ton.

However, the 34-year-old Kohli has 46 hundreds from 274 ODI matches and needs three more to match his former colleague and boyhood hero.

When asked what he thinks about accomplishing that goal, Kohli responds right away, “It will be a very emotional moment for me.”

During the meeting, Kohli also emphasized the value of sports and shared his early experiences of playing cricket with older guys.

“Sports provide life lessons such as discipline and preparation. It broadens your perspective and helps you become more effective. Regardless of your line of work, participating in sports has tremendous significance.

“Teach them, don't simply make them [students] do sports. The vice principle of his school gave him the advice to follow cricket diligently, which relieved the burden of his schoolwork. It is crucial to educate them the finer points of what it means to play a sport, Kohli continues.

The six-part PUMA docuseries, produced in collaboration with Disney+ Hotstar and starring Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, MC Mary Kom, Chhetri, Harmanpreet Kaur, and para-athlete Avani Lekhara, delves deeply into the lives of these sports legends and demonstrates the significance of fitness and sports in their daily lives.
